The Adoptees’ Liberty Movement Association (ALMA) was founded and incorporated as a not-for-profit in the State of New York in 1971. It is the first organization in the U.S. developed to champion the restoration of rights of adopted persons to self-identifying information. The Alma Society, Inc. has been a 501(c)(3), tax-exempt corporation since 1977.
Saving Our Sisters is dedicated to supporting all members of expectant families considering adoption. SOS focuses on ensuring families do not apply a permanent solution to a temporary situation.
Bastard Nation: the Adoptee Rights Organization is the largest adoptee civil rights organization in the United States. We support only full unrestricted access for all adopted persons to their original birth certificates (OBC) and related documents.
Louisiana Coalition for Adoption Reform is a non-partisan grassroots 501(c)(4) non-profit organization dedicated to the restoration of the rights of adult adopted people to have access upon demand to their pre-adoption birth certificate.
Signed, Sealed, Adopted. is a project of Jamie Weiss, an adopted person and adoptee advocate who is dedicated to elevating adoptee voices and modifying adoption laws and practices.
